  1. I'm almost positive Juan Padilla is not playing in the Caribbean World Series. In the Puerto Rico Winter League this year, he played for Caguas. Ponce won the league, and is representing the league in the series. Jose Enrique Cruz however did play for Ponce at one point this winter ball season, I'm not sure if he is still with the club at the moment.

Remember, the Caribbean World Series is not a true "international" tournament. It is the final round of winter league baseball for the four individual champions of the Puerto Rico, Domincan Republic, Venezuela and Mexico Winter Leagues. Players from all over the world including the USA play for teams in all of those leagues. The teams representing the countries are only representing those leagues, and not a nationality. So yes, Juan Padilla is a member of the Puerto Rican national team right now that is preparing for the World Baseball Classic, but the Caribbean World Series is a much different event.

  3. OK, I didn't realize Padilla switched teams. I didn't see any stats for him with Ponce, but I guess I didn't look in the right place. Well done, keep up the good work.
